The 5 Best Free Barre Workout Channels on YouTube

I don’t mind spending big bucks on fitness. I’m happy to pay for access to expensive reformer Pilates studios; I don’t believe that cheap franchise gyms are “as good” as premium ones; and I spend a fortune on expensive workout clothes every month. However, I don’t spend a ton of money on barre workouts, no matter how trendy or effective they are.

I want to do ballet because it combines ballet, Pilates, and yoga into a challenging but effective workout that will help build muscle, flexibility, and core strength. I just don’t want to spend a ton of money and then spend it later. Luckily, YouTube has my back, as does looking for variety in my cycling or yoga workouts. Here are my favorite YouTube options.

Action Jacqueline

Jacquelyn Umof has over 200,000 subscribers to her channel Action Jacquelyn , where she has been posting barre, yoga, and fusion workouts for years. As a trained ballerina and former NBA dance team member, she knows what she’s doing, and her workouts are easy to follow.

Her channel has come a long way in terms of production quality, but the quality of the workouts themselves has always been excellent, so you’ll find something useful even if you’re following an eight-year-old program. There’s also a great variety: barre workouts for pregnant women, for brides, for those without equipment, and for those with specific goals, so you’ll find something that suits you.

BHome Fitness

BHome Fitness by Ella Jyoti typically offers shorter, more informative barre video tutorials. With nearly 33,000 subscribers, BHome Fitness has built a solid fan base who watch for quick, effective workouts that target specific muscle groups.

The videos are also well structured. The pre-made playlists include a 31-day introductory challenge, special beach workouts, and even classes where Jyoti teaches in small groups, so you can see how other people move and how she teaches them.

Nourishmovelove

Lindsey Bomgren offers a variety of workout formats to her 800,000-plus subscribers on her channel , Nourishmovelove , but her barre-style workouts are a must-try. They’re typically long — about 30 minutes — and designed to get your muscles feeling the burn, but she also incorporates cardio elements that take the workout to the next level.

If you are looking for a channel that offers variety, detailed instructions, and high quality production, Bomgren is a great instructor to start with.

Bodybarre

Bodybarre is a Houston-based fitness studio that offers on-demand memberships and also posts quality workouts on YouTube, where the company has just over 30,000 subscribers. Unlike other studios on this list, Bodybarre classes are filmed in the brand’s studio and members join in, so you can see what it would be like in an in-person class.

Since taking a new class at a studio can be a little intimidating, this is a great option for beginners or those considering joining a local ballet studio.

Move in with Nicole

In fact, I already recommended Move With Nicole in my roundup of the best Pilates classes on YouTube , but I’m adding her here because she also has some great barre workouts on her channel. She has over five million subscribers and a ton of videos, so she’s another good option if you’re looking for a reliable trainer to help you through a variety of different exercises.

Like all of her videos, these are well-shot and you’ll find what you need easily, as the video descriptions clearly state whether you’ll need equipment and how long the workout will take.
