My Favorite Amazon Deal of the Day: Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 Headphones

The Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 may have made headlines for their heart rate monitoring feature, but that’s actually their worst feature . These new earbuds, which came out in February, compete with the AirPods Pro 2 , as they typically cost the same. However, the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 are now available for $199.95 (originally $249.99) — their lowest price yet, according to price tracking tools .

Beats waited five years to update the Powerbeats Pro . Those who waited patiently for the new version will be rewarded with excellent workout earbuds, according to a review by Lifehacker senior health editor Beth Skuerecki , for under $200. The new ear hooks are smaller and made of nickel-titanium alloy, making them flexible and durable. There are four sizes of ear tips to ensure a snug fit to take advantage of active noise cancellation (ANC) and high-quality sound. You can also hear the sounds around you thanks to Transparency mode, which is essential for outdoor runs.

The Powerbeats Pro 2 earbuds are designed specifically for workouts, so they’re IPX4 waterproof and have a physical button for media control (as opposed to touch controls). The charging case now supports wireless charging and is smaller than the previous generation’s giant case, but still larger than the AirPods Pro 2. Battery life can be extended to 10 hours with active noise cancellation off, or up to eight hours with it on (roughly double the battery life of the AirPods Pro 2).

What do you think at the moment?

The H2 chip is the same one found in the AirPods Pro 2. Music automatically pauses when you take the AirPods out, and the heart rate monitor doesn’t work correctly on each AirPod ( more on that in the Beta article ). Like many Beats products, there’s no full EQ customization in the app, so you’ll have to settle for the powerful, bass-heavy Beats sound.
