The New Phone App in IOS 26 Will Remind You to Return Missed Calls

If you’re like me, your phone is always on silent, making it easy to miss a call. That’s not a problem in itself, at least until you forget to call back . Luckily, the updated Phone app in iOS 26 has a surprising new feature that might be even more useful than Auto Hold or Call Screening : the ability to quickly set reminders to call back. Here’s how it works.
How to Set Up Missed Call Reminders on iPhone
This is a feature of iOS 26, so of course you’ll need that version of iOS on your iPhone to access it. iOS 26 is in beta at the time of writing, but Apple plans to release the update to all compatible iPhones this fall. If you want to try it out sooner, you’ll need to install the public beta .
The new Reminders feature works in both the classic layout and the new unified layout in the Phone app. (You can switch layouts using the new Filter button in the top-right corner.) However, the unified layout is more convenient because it adds a separate Reminders section at the top of the screen.
You can create a reminder for any call in your Recents list. (This feature doesn’t work in the Favorites or Contacts lists.) Swipe left on a call entry in your Recents list to reveal a new blue Reminder button.
Tap Reminder to open time options. You can choose to be reminded in an hour, at night (9:00 PM), tomorrow, or at a date and time of your choosing.
Once you select an option, your reminder will appear at the top of the Reminders section in the Phone app.
But this reminder isn’t limited to the Phone app. If you open the Reminders app and go to the Today list, you’ll find the call reminder there, too. There’s even a handy button to add the call to your reminder.
If you want to delete a reminder, swipe left on the call entry and tap Delete .
