My Favorite Amazon Deal of the Day: JBL PartyBox 710

I love party speakers. I have way too many, but they all have a specific function where they shine. When I’m hosting karaoke at home, I pull out the Soundcore Rave 3S . If we’re taking karaoke somewhere else, I grab the Ikarao Shell S1 . For outdoor events, I use the Soundboks Go . But if I’m hosting a party at home, I use the JBL PartyBox Stage 320. However, JBL has an older model that’s even more powerful than the 320, the PartyBox 710 , which is available right now for $599.99 (original price: $849.95).

The JBL PartyBox 710 is one of JBL’s most powerful speakers, and that’s saying something. It has a maximum output of 800 watts, while the 320 has 240 watts, meaning it’s more than three times as powerful as its smaller sibling. The main downside is that, unlike the 320, the 710 needs to be plugged into an outlet. It doesn’t have a battery, which limits its potential as a home party speaker. It does have wheels, though, making it easy to move the 61-pound speaker around.

JBL’s companion app is excellent, and you can read about some of its great features in my review of the 320. The Effect Lab DJ app is impressive and can really add to the party. The 710 can be used with microphones or an electric guitar. The bass on the 710 is powerful, and can be adjusted with the Bass Boost button or further tweaked with the full EQ settings in the app. If you do connect microphones, for karaoke, for example, you can also control the bass, treble, and echo directly from the speaker’s control panel.

What do you think at the moment?

If you like hosting large groups of people and plan to live close to the outlet, you can’t go wrong with the 710. But if you want clean, crisp sound without the extra features, I recommend the Soundboks 4 .
