Google Has Given Us Our First Official Look at the Pixel 10

It’s becoming increasingly difficult for tech companies to keep new devices under wraps, and after new leaked renders of the base Pixel 10 model surfaced yesterday, followed by leaks of the Pixel 10 Pro this morning (both via Android Headlines), Google appears to have given in and decided to release a video of the Pixel 10 itself.
On the Pixel 10’s Google Store page, the company now shows a short video where the number 10 turns into a Pixel camera panel, and then zooms out to reveal the phone in all its glory. While the company doesn’t specify whether it’s a base or Pro model, the store page and URL only mention “Pixel 10.” However, the phone in the video does look more like the rumored Pixel 10 Pro.
This is a bit of a letdown, since it’s the base Pixel 10 model that will be the most different from its predecessor. The regular Pixel 10 is rumored to get a new telephoto lens (at the expense of ultra-wide quality), and the (probable) Pixel 10 Pro looks almost identical to the Pixel 9 Pro in Google’s video.
That means no lost features, but likely just incremental improvements. However, there is one important takeaway: the leaks appear to be correct for the Pixel 10 Pro, meaning that leaks for the base Pixel 10 model, confirmed by the same source as the 10 Pro, could also be true. This is big news, as it seems to confirm that the regular Pixel 10 will indeed have a possibly worse camera than its predecessor, depending on how much zoom matters to you.
Whatever the case, it won’t be long before all those “maybes” are gone: The entire Pixel 10 lineup goes on sale on August 20, following a livestream showcasing the new devices that starts at 1 p.m. ET that day. In addition to the base Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro, Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Pixel Watch 4.
