My Favorite Amazon Deal of the Day: Sonos Ace Headphones
You’ve probably heard of Sonos’ smart speakers and soundbars , which offer some of the best sound quality on the market. What you may not know, however, is that Sonos also makes the excellent Sonos Ace headphones, which launched last summer. They’re now on sale for $295 (originally $449) — their lowest price ever, according to price tracking tools .
The Sonos Ace are soft, comfortable, and easily adapt to any head size thanks to the plastic housing. The headphones have real buttons (as opposed to touch-sensitive ones) to control them, which I personally consider a huge plus. Battery life is impressive: about 30 hours with active noise cancellation (ANC) or Aware Mode, and about 40 hours without both modes. Multipoint Bluetooth support allows you to connect up to two devices at once and easily switch between them.
The headphones perform well, according to PCMag’s “excellent” review . The sound is balanced thanks to the in-app equalizer settings, and the active noise cancellation and Aware Mode features are top-notch, rivaling the best headphones on the market. Unfortunately, the Sonos Ace don’t support Wi-Fi, so you can’t stream media to them like you can with Sonos speakers, but then, not many headphones support Wi-Fi. You can, however, connect to Sonos speakers via Bluetooth and listen to media that way (if you have Sonos speakers).
At its current price, the Sonos Ace competes with the best headphones for Apple users, the AirPods Max , and the best headphones for Android users, the Sony WH-1000XM6 , and arguably offers better value for money since they’re significantly cheaper. If you care about transparency mode or have Sonos speakers in your home, the Sonos Ace headphones are your best bet.
