GoPro Hero 12 Black Still $90 Off on Amazon
You can’t get back time, but you can still take advantage of Prime Day deals. I’m still seeing deals on Samsung gaming monitors , Google devices , Nintendo Switch OLED displays , AirPods , and more , including the GoPro Hero12 Black , one of Lifehacker writer Steven Johnson’s favorite products . It’s still $279 (originally $369.99), which is nearly $100 off the regular price.
This isn’t the newest GoPro camera available; that’s the GoPro Hero 13 Black, which came out last September, and the GoPro Hero 14 is expected to come out in the fall of 2025. GoPro releases a new camera almost every year, so the changes aren’t always revolutionary, and there’s not much you can do with just a GoPro, since they rely heavily on their accessories .
The GoPro Hero 12 Black received an “Outstanding” review from PCMag when it launched in 2023 for its ease of use, top-notch video stabilization, good resolution and frame rate options (5.3K60, 4K120, or 2.7K240), front and rear displays, waterproof design, and compact size that lets you shoot in tight spaces to get the perfect shot.
One of the biggest drawbacks of this version compared to older models is the lack of GPS, which drained the battery quickly. However, even with these drawbacks, the battery won’t last a full day. Video storage requires a microSDXC card, as well as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and USB-C connectivity. The 8:7 aspect ratio makes the camera better suited for widescreen and vertical videos for social media.
