New to Prime Day? We’ve got everything you need to get started . Sales information is accurate at time of publication, but prices and stock levels are subject to change.
Retail sales like Amazon Prime Day are full of potential traps for unwary shoppers, whether it’s “sale prices” that are just hype or the lack of an easy way to track prices on the site , so I’m always on the lookout for tricks, and I came across an interesting one.
Check out this deal on Amazon Echo Frames smart glasses (but don’t click “buy”). They’re $129, down from $299.99. If you’ve been looking for a solid pair of 2023 smart audio glasses that integrate with Alexa, this might seem like a really good deal until you look at this ad : It’s the same third-generation Amazon Echo Frames for the same $129 price, but you also get an Echo Spot for free just by clicking on the right ad. That’s a great deal, by the way. Echo Spots are $44.99 on Prime Day, down from a retail price of $79.99. But that’s a great deal that someone could easily miss by “impulsively clicking” on the original ad, so make sure you shop around a bit before buying anything on Prime Day. On a related note: Amazon really wants to get rid of Echo Frames, so it’s a buyer’s market for slightly outdated smart glasses. Another trap: not having time to buy at Prime Day prices. The sale ends in a few hours.
Looking for something else? Retailers Walmart and Best Buy are running Prime Day sales through July 13, which are especially helpful if you don’t have an Amazon Prime subscription.
