This Chefman Electric Grill Is 20% Off for Prime Day and It’s Changed the Way I Grill

Prime Day 2025 runs from Tuesday, July 8 through Friday, July 11, and Lifehacker is sharing the best sales based on product reviews, comparisons, and price tracking tools.

As much as I love air fryers and blenders that also make hot soup , some of my favorite kitchen appliances aren’t expensive multi-taskers. I love the simplicity of an immersion blender and the way a waffle maker gets the job done without digital screens or bells and whistles. The Chefman Electric Grill and Panini Press is the latest addition to this long line of simple, reliable kitchen helpers, and it’s currently 20% off as part of Amazon Prime Day.

Last year my dad gave me a Chefman Electric Grill and Panini Press for my birthday, and I’m mad I didn’t turn it on sooner. I thought it was just a regular panini press, but it turns out it can do so much more than just toast. I’m now a master of the electric grill.

I was under the impression that this thing was basically a giant waffle iron, only without the waffle function. I’ve seen cheap panini presses, and they were just two ribbed heating plates that snapped together and crushed each other. While there’s often a time and place for squishing sandwiches at high temperatures, the Pac-Man-style hinged plates can lead to uneven cooking by squashing food at an awkward angle. That’s not how the Chefman works.

Two things make this electric grill and panini press better than most. First, it has a pivoting top plate. When you press the lid to place a tall sandwich or a hearty skewer of meat and vegetables, the top plate tilts, remaining parallel to the bottom. I enjoy evenly cooked meat and crispy stripes every time.

What do you think at the moment?

The second benefit of the Chefman Electric Grill and Panini Press is its 180° hinge, allowing you to fold out the top grill completely. If you’re grilling on the roof or your son is inviting friends over for dinner, you can double the area for making burgers with the touch of a button.

I use this model to make quick, delicious kebabs. (Here are my recipes that I rotate through .) It’s 20% off for just $27.98 , and it has 4.5 stars and over ten thousand reviews. I agree with their overall rating. If you’re looking for a larger model (maybe to fit two more burgers or four hot dogs), this is the next size up , and it’s also 20% off for a very reasonable $39.99 .
