There are two big brands in the tablet market right now: Apple and Samsung. Both companies make a wide range of smart devices with large touchscreens, but here’s a little secret: unless you’re an artist or graphic designer, you’ll probably want to go with the cheapest option. Meet the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+, which gives you a full Android experience for just $132.99 this Prime Day.

I love having a tablet on hand, but if you’re anything like me, you tend to use it just for reading or watching things, and then mostly when traveling. Sure, big screens and quality materials like OLED are nice, but for this kind of everyday use, you don’t need the best specs.

That’s why I like Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A9+. It’s the company’s cheapest tablet yet, and it’s the epitome of “good enough,” and I’m all for it. For your modest investment, you get an 11-inch FHD+ LCD display (with a fast 90Hz refresh rate), four stereo speakers, a full version of Android with modern features like facial recognition, and, depending on the configuration, either 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. That’s pretty good for the price of what’s essentially a luxury date (at least where I live).

The processor is also not bad. It’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695, which is a few years old, and while it’s not revolutionary, it shouldn’t slow down when browsing the web. Qualcomm is a reliable brand in this area, and this budget processor should be able to handle even most games if you run them on low settings.

What do you think at the moment?

There are no fancy cameras or next-gen displays, but for my purposes, it’s more than enough. If you’re also into tablets, consider picking up the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ this Prime Day.
