I Ride This Exercise Bike Every Day and It’s 41% Off on Prime Day

Prime Day 2025 runs from Tuesday, July 8 through Friday, July 11, and Lifehacker is sharing the best sales based on product reviews, comparisons, and price tracking tools.

I start almost every day with a ride on my NordicTrack S22i Studio Cycle — it’s been my go-to home trainer since the pandemic began, and it’s currently 41% off on Amazon. That’s why I prefer it over other popular alternatives like Peloton .

Compared to the Peloton, the S22i is a more robust option that’s suitable for people of all sizes. It weighs significantly more (205 pounds versus 135 pounds), which makes assembly a bit more challenging, but it does have a sturdier, more stable base. It’s a bit wider, but still fits easily into the alcove of my tiny home office. It’s rated for a heavier weight, up to 350 pounds (165 kg), compared to 297 pounds (127 kg) for the Peloton. The incline/decline feature (-10% to 20%) is smooth and has 24 resistance levels. The bike comes with a set of 3-pound (1.3 kg) dumbbells for an even more intense cardio workout.

According to this PCMag review , the main draw is the adjustable 22-inch Smart HD touchscreen with a built-in fan that lets you adjust resistance and incline. Plus, it streams more than 17,000 iFIT classes and coach-led workouts filmed both indoors and in scenic outdoor locations. You can choose from exciting scenic routes, including a virtual ride along the entire 2020 Tour de France route with a realistic simulation. You can also create your own route using Google Maps, which uses Google Images to display locations. While the interface is well-designed, it can be a bit laggy at times due to buffering, and the workout filtering system could be more streamlined.

I recently decided to ditch the subscription and just use the bike for manual workouts to my own music, giving it versatility and allowing me to workout without being tied to a $39 monthly subscription. The screen displays metrics like cadence, laps completed, and time remaining, and records and tracks stats to help you track your progress. Unlike Peloton bikes, you don’t need special clip-ons; the NordicTrack has hybrid pedals with an adjustable frame, so you can wear them with regular sneakers if you don’t have clip-ons.

What do you think at the moment?

The only downside is that it doesn’t have the same level of engagement and community interaction as Peloton, which offers 24/7 access to instructor-led studio classes. The Peloton also has a slightly heavier flywheel than the S22i, but most users won’t notice the difference. If you don’t mind the slightly heavier build and wider track, the feature-rich NordicTrack S22i Studio Cycle is a high-quality, well-built, and smart bike that offers great value for the money, especially at under $900 on Prime Day.
