New to Prime Day? We’ve got everything you need to get started . Sales information is accurate at time of publication, but prices and stock levels are subject to change.
If Apple’s iPhone Pro Max is too small for you and the standard iPad is too big, the iPad mini is a near-perfect option. It has an 8.3-inch display, weighs just over 250 grams, and is only a quarter of an inch thick. And yet, despite its size, it supports the Apple Pencil, runs on the A17 Bionic processor, and has a great camera. It’s a unique product that I’ve had my eye on for a while.
Why haven’t I bought one yet? Well, I already have both an iPhone and an iPad, and it’s hard to justify buying a $500 iPad when you already own one of Apple’s tablets. Maybe Prime Day will change my mind, since Amazon is currently offering $120 off all versions of the mini.
That’s great news, because the base mini comes with just 128GB of storage. If that’s enough for you, great: You can get the tablet for $379. But if you want more, you’ll have to pay up front, and the price will go up pretty quickly. Luckily, the $120 discount applies to all models. The 256GB version, which usually costs $599, is now $479 . The 512GB version used to cost $799 and now costs $679 . The same goes for the more expensive cellular models: If you want an iPad, you can sign up for a cellular plan.
The Mini is just a fun product. It’s a full-fledged iPad, in a body that’s almost as small as the iPhone. If it were any smaller, it would be an iPhone, and Samsung would accuse Apple of copying the Galaxy Ultra series. If you’ve been thinking about buying one, Prime Day is the time to do it.
