New to Prime Day? We’ve got the lowdown on everything you need to know . Sales are accurate at the time of publication, but prices and inventory are always subject to change.
If you’ve been curious about Whoop, today is a great day to try it out. Right now, you can pick up the latest version of their device, Whoop 5.0, for $169 with a 12-month subscription to the app and service.
To give you an idea of where Whoop fits in the company’s offerings, it’s worth noting that earlier this year the company released a new hardware version – the 5.0 and MG devices replaced the old 4.0. In addition, the subscription was divided into three tiers :
-
One of them is a budget one, and it is the one that is sold at a discount.
-
The peak is the average level that most closely matches the normal membership everyone had before the changes were made.
-
Life has additional features and comes with an MG (“medical grade”) version of the device.
With Whoop, you technically only pay for the subscription, and the device is free. So after the first 12-month subscription expires, you can renew for another term.
What you get
This deal is for the cheapest 5.0 device subscription. It normally costs $199, but today you can get it for $169. You’ll lose access to health monitoring, stress monitoring, and the new Healthspan feature, but you’ll still get stress and recovery scores, plus sleep and workout recommendations.
If you decide you like Whoop and want to upgrade to a Peak membership, you can do so at any time by paying an additional fee to make up the price difference between the two options.
You can read my thoughts on Whoop after using it for a while here . It’s really well thought out, with analytics and cues to help you align your training and recovery with your goals – something no other device or app does as well. The subscription is pricey, but I can see why it’s worth it for many.
