This Is the Best Robot Vacuum Under $500 on Prime Day

Prime Day 2025 runs from Tuesday, July 8 through Friday, July 11, and Lifehacker is sharing the best sales based on product reviews, comparisons, and price tracking tools.

I admit, until last month I held the very arrogant opinion that most robot vacuums under $700 weren’t worth the purchase. I tested so many of them and was disappointed. Parts broke or didn’t work together to get dirt off the floor. The mops were a disaster. I spent so much time unclogging them, or pulling them out from under the couch, or diagnosing error codes that it didn’t save me a minute.

But last month, I finally installed my first robot vacuum from Eureka, the J15 Pro Ultra. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much, because traditional vacuum companies that enter the robot space tend not to “roboticize” very well. But the J15 Pro Ultra was pretty darn brave. It didn’t have a fancy tower or a sleek design. But what it did have, it worked. After a few days, I realized I hadn’t saved it once, and my floors were surprisingly clean. Over the next few weeks, as it faithfully cleaned carpet, rugs, tile, and hardwood floors, the J15 Pro Ultra became one of my favorites .

The J15 Pro Ultra is currently priced at $935, but the J15 Ultra — the Pro Ultra’s little brother — has almost all the features and costs just under $500 on Prime Day. The Ultra has the same size dust bin, the tower holds the same amount of clean water, the Ultra and Pro use the same battery, and the robot is exactly the same size. In fact, the Ultra has more suction power — 19,000 Pa versus the Pro Ultra’s 16,000 Pa.

In fact, the only thing the Pro Ultra has that the cheaper model doesn’t is a mop lift. But it has better carpet detection, which should mitigate that issue. The robot will leave the mop if you ask it to vacuum carpets or rugs. The Ultra still uses hot water to wash the mop. In short, it’s essentially the same vacuum/mop I fell in love with.

The Eureka app is blissfully simple and organized. The font is large and easy to read, and the app is ad-free with plenty of white space.

The J15 uses a silicone roller with tiny razors to cut pet and human hair, and I found it to be very effective. This prevents hair from getting caught in the roller. The dual rotating mop heads did a decent job on the floor, applying just the right amount of pressure on tile and hardwood.

What do you think at the moment?

Finally, one of the reasons this model works so well is because it has a giant spinning scraper at the front that works hard to clear debris out of the way of the rollers.

$500 isn’t exactly chump change. But this model typically costs over $700, so this is a chance to get a flagship, premium model for less.
