This Is My Favorite Compact, Versatile Ladder, and It’s on Sale for Prime Day.

Prime Day 2025 runs from Tuesday, July 8 through Friday, July 11, and Lifehacker is sharing the best sales based on product reviews, comparisons, and price tracking tools.

I have an annoying habit of waiting too long to buy a tool. I’ve been a pain in the ass for the last few years, borrowing ladders from neighbors but having nowhere to store them. They’re big and bulky, and it wasn’t until my neighbor noticed that I was using his ladder more often than he did that I realized it was time to get busy and head to the hardware store.

I’m glad I did, because I ended up falling down a rabbit hole of ladder research. Instead of getting a flimsy, dangerous ladder that was always too high or too low, I got a versatile ladder that’s always perfect for the job: The Soctone Ladder can be assembled in a variety of ways to fit any space, and it’s on sale right now for Prime Day.

The best thing about the Soctone is that it fits just about anywhere in its compact size. (I hide mine behind a tall propane tank near the garage.) When you want to use it, you decide what configuration to use: The ladder looks like a simple A-frame, but you can turn it into one long, 15-foot-long, slanted ladder, or you can set it up as a tall, 5-foot-tall A-frame, or as short as a stepladder. A feature I really like is that you can only extend one side, so if you’re in an odd space, like a staircase, or somewhere uneven, the ladder will still work and be stable.

The ladder feels safe: it’s heavy (15 kg), but sturdy. It’s rated for 150 kg, so I don’t have to worry about standing on it, even on the top step. I chose the Soctone because of the retractable stabilizers, which other ladders don’t have. Thanks to these stabilizers, my ladder never sinks into the mud. When I’m done, I simply fold it back up (it only takes a few seconds). And now I’m the one who can lend the ladder to someone.

What do you think at the moment?

The 14.5-foot Soctone Ladder is normally priced at $144.99, but is currently on sale for 24 percent off for $109.99 as part of Prime Day. I chose the 14.5-foot version simply because it was the exact height I needed. The ladder is also available in other sizes, most of which are also on sale for Prime Day.
