New to Prime Day? We’ve got the lowdown on everything you need to know . Sales are accurate at the time of publication, but prices and inventory are always subject to change.
Buying a gaming laptop is always tricky, if only because of the sheer number of options. With a Nintendo Switch 2 or a Steam Deck , you know what you’re getting. But with a gaming laptop, there are so many manufacturers and so many possible configurations that shopping for a new one can be a little daunting.
Let me help you out — the Asus ROG Strix G16 is a great choice this Prime Day. This laptop has a large screen, it’s not too heavy, and while it leans a bit toward the hardcore aesthetic, you can turn off its RGB lighting if you’re not into it. Best of all, it’s available in a variety of price points, depending on how powerful you want it to be.
If you’re more casual, consider this entry-level deal for $1,360 , which is a $400 discount. That gets you a laptop with a powerful Intel Core i9 processor, a decent last-gen RTX 4060 GPU, plus 16GB of RAM, a whopping 1TB of storage, and a QHD+ screen that supports 240fps gaming. It would have been a dream machine just a year ago, and it still holds up today.
If you need something more powerful, consider this $1,999 ($400 off) version . This model upgrades you to a newer Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, an RTX 5070 Ti GPU, and 32GB of RAM. This lets you play all but the most demanding games at high settings and at or above 60 frames per second, and is likely the best choice for most gamers.
However, if you want the best of the best, consider the $2,400 configuration ($500 off). Aside from being the best value you can get here, its big upgrade is that it gets you an RTX 5080 GPU, one of the best laptop graphics cards on the market right now. Few games will be able to squeeze the full capabilities out of this laptop.
There are a few other models on sale, though the value for money isn’t as strong. Technically, you can get this laptop for just $1,274 , but what you’re giving up in power probably isn’t worth it. Still, it’s worth exploring other options to see what’s best for you.
You’ll likely find something you like. Among the many competitors, this is one of the best-looking Prime Day gaming laptops, no matter your budget.
