Newest Echo Spot Drops to Lowest Price Ever in Prime Day History

Prime Day 2025 runs from Tuesday, July 8 through Friday, July 11, and Lifehacker is sharing the best sales based on product reviews, comparisons, and price tracking tools.

Amazon has discontinued the Echo Dot with Clock, replacing it with something much cuter. The new Echo Spot is a small speaker that’s about the width of an egg cut in half. It’s basically an Echo Pop, but it has a small screen on top that displays the time, weather, and a media playback widget. If you don’t need a big smart display on your desktop, this is the perfect companion.

As part of its Prime Day promotion, Amazon is discounting the Echo Spot to $44.99 , the lowest price we’ve seen to date. That’s 44% off the regular price of $79.99.

Alexa voice control, plus a small screen

Amazon Echo devices are all about Alexa, and that’s true for the Echo Spot, too. You can interact with Alexa in any way you want, including asking her questions, playing music, and controlling your Fire TV or other smart devices. It’s a small speaker, so the bass isn’t as powerful, but the sound quality is pretty good considering its size. There are buttons on the top to mute the microphone if you’re concerned about your privacy.

Personally, my favorite thing about the Echo Spot is the semi-circular screen on top. It shows the time very conveniently and can cycle through other information, such as the weather and information about the music playing. The screen also supports basic touch controls.

What do you think at the moment?

PCMag gave the Amazon Echo Spot a ” Good ” rating, noting that “it sounds just as good as the Echo Dot, has a more user-friendly display than the Echo Dot With Clock, offers basic smart home control features, and responds reliably to Alexa commands.”
