My Favorite Budget Dutch Oven Just Got Even Cheaper on Prime Day

Prime Day 2025 runs from Tuesday, July 8 through Friday, July 11, and Lifehacker is sharing the best sales based on product reviews, comparisons, and price tracking tools.

When Lifehacker food editor Ellie Reinmann wrote about her favorite budget Dutch ovens earlier this year, she said, “You don’t need a Le Creuset… If you have one, great; they’re really pretty. However, if you’re interested in cooking and don’t have $500 to spend, there are plenty of other high-quality, durable, and beautiful options.” And then she told us about the Lodge .

I actually have a Le Creuset Dutch oven, and it’s beautiful (and I’m terrified of ruining it). But while it’s a 5.5-quart capacity, it’s great for soups and stews, but it’s too big for what I really need: a good gravy pot. I’m not going to start collecting vintage Dutch ovens that my teenage sons probably won’t ever need, so I went with a budget option: a 3-quart Lodge that I now use at least once or twice a week, and it’s on sale for $61.49 on Prime Day. (That’s a few bucks less than I spent, to be honest.)

I took a photo of my first batch of sauce to proudly show Ellie:

It does what you need it to: cooks food evenly, is easy to clean with a soapy sponge, and looks pretty on the stove if you need to leave it out to dry (or if you’re short on storage like me). A few months later, and after many successful pasta sauces and other dishes, I suggested to my mother-in-law that she buy one for Mother’s Day. And now I get photos like this with captions like, “I love my pot!”

What do you think at the moment?

Right now, the Sandalwood (exactly the one I have), Caribbean Blue, and Island Spicy Red colors are on sale for just $61.49 .
