I Can Finally Recommend the Merach Stepper, and It’s on Sale for Prime Day

Prime Day 2025 runs from Tuesday, July 8 through Friday, July 11, and Lifehacker is sharing the best sales based on product reviews, comparisons, and price tracking tools.

The Merach Stair Stepper, a home cardio machine that normally retails for $149.99, is now on sale for $91.19, a 39% discount that allows me to finally recommend this product. When I previously reviewed the older version of this stepper, my main complaint was the lack of resistance adjustment and limitations that were designed to accommodate users of varying fitness levels. The good news? This model completely eliminates that major flaw.

The Merach Stair Stepper is a manual gliding stair climber that requires you to control both the up and down movements, engaging completely different muscle groups than you might expect. And the updated version available now includes adjustable resistance . Building muscle requires gradually increasing resistance, weight, or intensity, so this machine will grow with you.

That said, even if you reach the machine’s maximum resistance (which is apparently quite modest ), this stepper is more suited to general sedentary lifestyle goals (rather than to building yourself a new giant butt). Even if I consider this stepper more of a “TV entertainment” than a “life-changing machine,” I genuinely enjoy the light cardio it provides.

The stepper’s folding design, which allows it to be stored vertically, is a huge plus for saving space. However, in reality, everything is a little more complicated than stated: in order to fold the device, it must be partially disassembled by removing several adjustment knobs and loosening bolts. When you want to use it again, you will have to spend several minutes assembling and tightening all the parts.

What do you think at the moment?

The bottom line is that the addition of adjustable resistance elevates this stepper from a simple piece of exercise equipment to a truly valuable addition to your home gym. Or at least, it now justifies its current price of $91.19. For Prime members looking for an affordable way to stay fit at home, this stepper ticks all the boxes: big savings, improved functionality, and the convenience of compact home fitness equipment.
