Prime Day is back , and with it, more smart home upgrades. If you’ve been wanting to add a video doorbell to your setup but didn’t want to spend more than $100 on it, the Ecobee Smart Video Doorbell might be worth considering. It’s currently available for $99.99, down from $159.99 — its lowest price ever (according to price trackers ) — but only for Prime members . If you haven’t signed up yet, there’s always a 30-day free trial to take advantage of. The doorbell connects neatly to other Ecobee smart devices, as well as Alexa and Apple HomeKit, though it doesn’t support Apple’s HomeKit Secure Video. It’s also wired, so setup will take some effort.

The 1080p resolution may not seem impressive in a world where other brands are pushing 2K or 4K, but the 5-megapixel HDR camera still delivers solid image quality, according to this PCMag review . There’s a wide 175-degree vertical field of view that lets you capture visitors from head to toe, as well as any packages that might be left behind during the day. Daytime video looks bright, and the black-and-white night vision offers decent contrast and clarity. The camera also features Smart Focus, which digitally zooms in to better track people as they approach. And with dual-band Wi-Fi and noise-canceling microphones, two-way conversations won’t sound tinny or muddled. You also get weather protection with an IP65 rating , which helps the doorbell withstand rain, dust, and general outdoor conditions.

What it doesn’t offer is local video storage. Recordings are stored in the cloud, which means you’ll need a subscription to access most of the features . The standard plan costs $5 per month or $50 per year and includes 30 days of video history, packet detection, and more detailed alerts for a single camera. The $10 per month Full plan expands these features to multiple cameras and adds 24/7 monitoring and insurance benefits. Without a plan, you’re limited to live viewing and basic notifications.

Best Buy’s Prime Day sale , “Black Friday in July,” runs through Sunday, July 13, and offers some of the best tech sales online . It’s an especially good option if you’re a My Best Buy “Plus” or “Total” member.
Home Depot has extended its July 4 sale through at least July 9, competing with some of its own great deals . It’s a particularly good option if you’re looking for power tools, appliances, or outdoor gear.
