New to Prime Day? We’ve got the lowdown on everything you need to know . Sales are accurate at the time of publication, but prices and inventory are always subject to change.
If you’re looking for a cheap Bluetooth speaker that you won’t have to be too picky about, this Prime Day deal is worth checking out: The Anker Soundcore 2 is currently $27.97 (down from $44.99 — a 38% reduction). You’ll need to be an Amazon Prime member to take advantage of the discount, but if you’re not, you can always sign up for a free 30-day trial , grab the deal (and any other Prime Day deals you like), and cancel before the end of the month. If you keep your subscription after the free trial, Prime will cost you $14.99 per month. For the best Prime Day 2025 deals , check out the Lifehacker blog and stay up to date with the latest.
The Soundcore 2 has been around for a while now and is still a basic speaker that you can take anywhere. It’s small enough to slip into a backpack and offers 24 hours of battery life, though that really depends on how loud you play it. That said, it’ll last you a full day at the beach, in the park, or playing a few podcasts while you do chores around the house. It’s also IPX7 waterproof , so if it gets splashed or dropped in the sink, you’ll likely be fine.
That said, it won’t blow your mind in the sound department. There’s a distinct dip in the bass, and it doesn’t get very loud, so don’t expect it to rock your next house party. There’s also no app or equalizer to tweak the sound, so what you hear is what you get. If you don’t expect booming sound or party-level volume, it’s easy to live with, and easier to replace if something happens to it. ( CNET gave it a solid 7 out of 10, praising its affordability and battery life.)
