The Narwal S20 Is My Favorite Vacuum Mop, and It’s $160 Off on Prime Day

Prime Day 2025 runs from Tuesday, July 8 through Friday, July 11, and Lifehacker is sharing the best sales based on product reviews, comparisons, and price tracking tools.

New to Prime Day? We’ve got the lowdown on everything you need to know . Sales are accurate at the time of publication, but prices and inventory are always subject to change.

My kitchen is a never-ending hub of activity, and, well, I’m a messy cook. So sometimes the robot vacuums I rely on just can’t get the floor clean enough in one pass. In those cases, you usually reach for a hand mop, but that means lugging a heavy bucket around the house. I tested a few stick mops, from Dyson to Shark, and they were mostly “okay” but underwhelming. The Dyson leaked, and the Shark wasn’t powerful enough to get into the dirt; the Eureka used steam, but that turns out to be bad for your tiles. Then Narwal sent me the S20 , and it’s a dream. And it’s on sale now for $340, down from its original $500 price tag, thanks to Prime Day.

A combination vacuum and mop, the S20 has a small docking station that it fits into to charge and clean the mop head. You get a second mop head that you can throw in the dishwasher, so you always have a spare ready to use. The mop itself has two compartments: one that fills with clean water and detergent, and one that holds dirty water, which you empty on demand.

The first pleasure is that using the S20 is like following a lawn mower. It moves. You don’t push it, you just follow it (my housekeeper said she had a hard time keeping up). There’s an interface at the end of the handle; you press a button to tell the mop how hard to work, and there’s a trigger under the handle to dispense detergent.

What’s remarkable is that the roller mop does a good job of picking up medium dirt, something no robot mop can do. But the S20 also gets into places a robot can’t — right up against walls, in corners, and underfoot. While it’s unlikely to leave a deep stain on the first pass, the same can be said for your hand mop. Since you’re standing there anyway, a second pass is easy, with or without the extra power. The floor looks absurdly clean when you’re done.

What do you think at the moment?

To empty the dirty water container, simply remove the container, turn it upside down, and pour it into the sink. Rinse it, put it back, and it’s ready to go. Even though it doesn’t hold much water, I only have to fill it with clean water every few mopping cycles.

I love having the S20 at my disposal so much that I finally got rid of the hand mop in my closet. There’s nothing it can do that the S20 can’t. With $160 off the retail price for Prime Day , it’s a great time to pick one up for yourself.
