For many gamers, a widescreen curved OLED monitor is the holy grail. Not only do these screens provide unparalleled views of some of the most stunning vistas in gaming (and fantastic peripheral views for keeping an eye on your flank in competitive games like Marvel Rivals or CoD ), but OLED panels make visuals pop like no other technology has ever done before. Thankfully, Prime Day is here to the rescue, with a 44% discount that drops the Odyssey’s price to an all-time low of $899.99 , making the stunning curved OLED affordable to mere mortals. That’s a frankly remarkable price for a gaming monitor the size of a fairly large flat-screen TV, especially when you consider the price premium typically applied to curved monitors. While OLED has become increasingly affordable in recent years, getting a display this size for under $1,000 is still pretty new.
It’s not just for gamers. A large, 49-inch wraparound screen like this is a boon for creative types of all kinds, especially those working in the visual arts. Not only does this curved panel provide more natural viewing angles, but OLED’s remarkable color accuracy and vibrancy are a huge benefit for editing images and videos.
If you’re a gamer, however, the good news doesn’t end with OLED. The Odyssey also sports a 240Hz refresh rate, so even the best hardware won’t overwhelm it with too many frames, and it’s bristling with ports to hook up any console, PC, or laptop your heart desires. And don’t worry about lag: Samsung claims the Odyssey delivers an incredible 0.03ms (GTG) response time, so fighting and shooter fans won’t be fooled by input lag.
