New to Prime Day? We’ve got the lowdown on everything you need to know . Sales are accurate at the time of publication, but prices and inventory are always subject to change.
As someone who values efficiency, I’ve never understood the point of putting up holiday lights every year and then taking them down a few months later. To add insult to injury, it means crawling all over your roof during the worst weather of the year. Meanwhile, you have to find a place to store the lights and then spend a day untangling them. It’s crazy, and permanent lights, which hit the consumer market a few years ago, solve this problem.
Last year, I tested almost every smart light on the market. This was the second year in a row that I tested Govee lights, and they remained the top pick. Right now, the Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights Pro are 32% off for Prime Day, bringing the price down from $439.99 to $299.99.
Install them once and they can stay on your home all year round. They have a different profile than standard holiday lights, so it doesn’t look like you have string lights hanging all the time. Instead, the small profile lights project color onto your home. When you want to use them, your phone becomes your remote control, allowing you to choose colors and movement patterns via an app.
They also last a long time. Mine survived the worst, wettest winter I can remember and they still work great.
