My Favorite Coffee Maker Is 50% Off This Prime Day

Prime Day 2025 runs from Tuesday, July 8 through Friday, July 11, and Lifehacker is sharing the best sales based on product reviews, comparisons, and price tracking tools.

For a long time, I was a Keurig fan, and I was glad I was. I’d load a K-Cup into my single-serve coffee maker , and within two minutes, my morning was saved. But my Keurig had two problems: I hated the daily waste of K-Cups, even though “recyclable” ones came out a few years ago. And using the machine was a bit of a pain when I tried to make more than one drink at a time. If I had multiple guests over who wanted a cup of coffee, they’d have to wait in line because my machine brewed exactly one drink at a time. So I started looking into a more traditional coffee maker—one that used a single paper filter to brew an entire cup of coffee—so that if I had guests over or wanted to fill my travel mug, it wouldn’t be a problem.

While I probably would have been happy with a standard coffee maker, I was enamored with the Moccamaster Technivorm and never had the chance to look for anything else. This thing has it all: It’s stylish, it brews 40 ounces of coffee at a time, and it supposedly optimizes the speed at which the coffee is brewed to extract its “full flavor” and maximize its “complexity, taste, and aroma.” I’m no expert when it comes to my coffee “extraction.” I just love a good cup. And this thing makes a good cup of coffee every time. ( This YouTube review does a good job of explaining the machine in more detail.)

When it comes to brewing the coffee itself, I often use Moccamaster’s online brewing tips (though they should also come with your machine in paper form). They give the recommended water-to-ground coffee ratio for any amount of coffee you want to brew (I usually brew a liter at a time, which equates to six scoops of two-tablespoon Moccamaster, or 55 ounces), as well as advice on what to do if the strength is off: If your coffee is too strong, Moccamaster recommends adding hot water. But if it’s too weak, Moccamaster doesn’t recommend adding more ground coffee; instead, it advises “exploring different coffees or roast profiles to find one that best suits your taste.” To me, that sounds like a very polite version of “your coffee sucks, dude.”

Premium brewing at premium prices

From a beginner’s perspective, everything about this Moccamaster is amazing—except the price. It retails for $359, which, last time I checked, is expensive . That’s why when I saw the Technivorm was on sale for Prime Day, I had to write about it.

The catch is that you can’t be too picky about the color. Right now, you can get the car in Off-White for 50% off. I think it’s worth it, but if you’re dead set on a different color, you have options: Apricot is currently 29% off; Brushed Gold, Matte Silver, Butter Yellow, and Orange are 30% off; Black, Midnight Blue, Candy Apple Red, Pink, Pistachio, Stone Gray, Turquoise, and Yellow Pepper are 33% off; and Juniper, Matte Black, and Polished Silver are 45% off.

What do you think at the moment?

There are a few colors that are currently unavailable, but they may change during Prime Day. These sales change frequently, so I would recommend clicking on the different colors before purchasing to see if the deal has changed since this article.
