New to Prime Day? We’ve got the lowdown on everything you need to know . Sales are accurate at the time of publication, but prices and inventory are always subject to change.
AirPods 4 are Apple’s first standard pair of AirPods to offer active noise cancellation. Until now, you had to upgrade to AirPods Pro 2 to get noise cancellation (which, by the way, are at their lowest price on Prime Day ). But now you can enjoy ANC and Apple’s Transparency mode in open-back headphones.
On Prime Day, you’ll find AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation at an all-time low price of just $119. That’s down from the original price of $179 and even lower than the usual discount of around $150. Plus, while this is an Amazon Prime Day sale, it’s not exclusive to Prime members, so anyone can take advantage of this deal.
AirPod 4 is a full ANC package on a budget
AirPods 4 marks Apple’s first major redesign of the regular AirPods line. The stems are shorter and the case is smaller, but the earbuds retain the same open-ear design that made AirPods so iconic. While AirPods 4 don’t use the silicone tips found on AirPods Pro, the redesigned earbuds have a shape that fits better inside your ear, even without a silicone tip.
The AirPods 4 are powered by the same H2 chip as the AirPods Pro 2, meaning you get the same level of audio processing, noise cancellation (albeit slightly less powerful), and features like Voice Isolation, Conversation Awareness, and Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking. You also get Apple’s stellar Transparency mode, which sucks in sounds from the outside world, adjusting the intensity so they’re not too loud while still letting you know your surroundings.
The case features USB-C charging and is compatible with any Qi or MagSafe charger, and has built-in speakers for Find My notifications. The battery lasts up to 5 hours with ANC on per charge, and 30 hours total with the charging case. It has an IP54 rating for dust, sweat, and water resistance.
The AirPods 4 are a great choice for those looking for ANC on a budget, and for those who don’t like silicone ear tips. PCMag gave the AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation four out of five stars and an Editor’s Choice award. According to PCMag, “The AirPods 4 do something no other open-back headphone can do: high-quality active noise cancellation. They also deliver excellent sound quality.”
If you don’t need the noise-canceling features, you can get the regular AirPods 4 for just $89 (was $129).
