What’s New on Netflix in July 2025

Netflix’s July lineup includes Happy Gilmore 2 (July 25), the long-awaited sequel starring Adam Sandler and Christopher McDonald, who reprise their roles as Happy and Shooter McGavin, respectively. The film, set 30 years after the original, sees Happy Gilmore return to golf to pay for his daughter’s ballet school. The list of cameos from professional golfers and other sports and music stars is long.

Less comedy, more drama in Untamed (July 17), a mystery thriller miniseries starring Eric Bana as a National Park Service special agent hunting a killer in Yosemite National Park. Sam Neill also stars.

Netflix has a long slate of documentaries premiering in July, including Apocalypse in the Tropics (July 14), which explores the role of evangelical Christianity in far-right politics in Brazil, including the rise of President Jair Bolsonaro. The film premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in August 2024 and was directed by Petra Costa, who also made the highly acclaimed Edges of Democracy .

July will also see the release of two new reality shows: All The Sharks (July 4) is a six-episode competition in which four teams compete to photograph the most sharks and their habitats, while Building The Band (July 9) brings together 50 singers who form bands without ever meeting each other.

Netflix is ​​also releasing five parts of Trainwreck , its anthology documentary series covering major news events gone wrong.
