Your IPhone May Not Be Compatible With This IOS 26 Battery Check Tool

Among the many features and changes included in iOS 26 are some useful battery updates for your iPhone. There’s a new charging indicator at the top of the Lock screen that tells you how long it will take to charge your phone to 80 or 100%; a redesigned Battery settings page that gives you a deeper look at your battery health and usage; and, most importantly, a new Adaptive Power feature that can make small adjustments to your iPhone’s performance to improve battery life—like a lighter version of Low Power Mode.
These may not be the flashiest features, especially compared to Apple’s “Liquid Glass” redesign , but they’re pretty useful. I don’t know how it took Apple nearly two decades to add battery estimation to the iPhone, since now you won’t have to guess how long it will be before your phone has enough juice to leave the house. Adaptive Power is also great, since Low Power Mode can go too far in the name of reducing battery drain. With this new feature, your iPhone will hopefully still feel as snappy and snappy as usual, while also lasting a little longer between charges.
There’s just one problem here: Your iPhone may not be compatible with Adaptive Power due to the way the feature works.
Adaptive Power is powered by artificial intelligence
To know when to throttle your iPhone to extend battery life without noticeably impacting iOS, Apple uses its AI toolkit, Apple Intelligence. If you have an iPhone 15 or older, you know your iPhone isn’t compatible with Apple Intelligence, even if the rationale is a little dubious .
However, Apple Intelligence features are only available on the iPhone 15 Pro and newer models, which effectively means that only six iPhone models support them:
-
iPhone 15 Pro
-
iPhone 15 Pro Max
-
iPhone 16
-
iPhone 16 Plus
-
iPhone 16 Pro
-
iPhone 16 Pro Max
Unfortunately, because Adaptive Power relies on AI to operate, the feature is limited to this list of six devices. MacRumors confirms this after testing the battery feature in the first beta of iOS 26. This is far from the only new iOS 26 feature that is also limited to these iPhones with Apple Intelligence . New features like Live Translation, Visual Intelligence, and the new Lens Cleaning Alert also rely on AI to operate and, as such, are not included in iOS 26 for older iPhones.
iOS 26 can run on iPhone 11 or later, but if you don’t have an iPhone 15 Pro or later, you won’t be able to take advantage of all the features in iOS 26.
