My Favorite Amazon Deal of the Day: This AOSU Solar Camera

I’ve been looking for the best solar camera for the money that also doesn’t require a subscription since my house was broken into. For me, that camera was the Aosu Solar Camera , and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an easy-to-setup, subscription-free, reliable 360-degree solar camera. You can get it for $59.99 (originally $79.99), an impressive value for the money.

This camera is one of the best I’ve tested, and it’s easy to install. You just need to mount it with a few screws to the wall or column you want to monitor. Ideally, you want the location to have direct sunlight. I’ve never had a battery drain, even in the Atlanta winter. While it can work without direct sunlight, it won’t charge the battery as quickly. You can’t move the solar panel, so placement has to be strategic. However, since the camera rotates 360 degrees, the angle it faces when you install it doesn’t matter (just make sure it faces the sun as much as possible).

What do you think at the moment?

The app is the smoothest and most responsive I’ve used (compared to Reolink, Eufy, and Lorex). It has some nice features, like person tracking, which focuses the camera on a person walking into the frame and follows them. It will record in 2K at night. There’s no subscription fee, but you’ll need an SD card for it. It’s IP65 weatherproof and compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant. You can also set alarms, and it has a spotlight that activates at night when motion occurs (it’s nowhere near as bright as a floodlight, but it’s bright enough to scare someone off a small porch at night).
