What’s New on Max in June 2025

Max is still Max for now, but a return to the original HBO Max branding is expected this summer. Meanwhile, the third season of the HBO Original series The Gilded Age is set to premiere weekly beginning June 22. The period drama, set in 1880s New York City, stars Carrie Coon, Christine Baranski, and Cynthia Nixon, among others.

The film lineup includes A24’s Partenope (June 6), Paolo Sorrentino’s coming-of-age film set in Naples and starring Celeste Dalla Porta and Gary Oldman, and The Cleaner (June 13), about radical activists in modern-day London who take hostages at an energy company’s annual gala in an attempt to expose corruption.

Max will also get The Day the Earth Exploded: A Looney Tunes Movie (June 27) and the acclaimed Minecraft Movie , a fantasy comedy based on the video game starring Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, and Jennifer Coolidge. The film debuted in theaters this spring and is listed as “coming soon” for Max.

Among the HBO Original documentaries coming in June is The Mortician , which premieres June 1. The three-part series takes a close look at the family behind Lamb Funeral Home in California and its morally questionable practices. Zachary Drucker’s Enigma (June 24) explores transgender heritage and identity through the stories of April Ashley and Amanda Lear, among others, and My Mom Jayne (June 27) follows actress Mariska Hargitay on her journey to learn more about her mom, who died when Hargitay was three.
