Nintendo Makes It Easier to Find Lost Switch 2 Joy-Con Controllers

Continuing the stream of news about the upcoming Switch 2 console, Nintendo has now revealed that it has improved the console’s ability to find lost Joy-Con controllers. The company demonstrated this in a video posted to the Nintendo Today app, which is available on Android and iPhone .

How to Find Missing Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con Controllers

To find your lost Switch 2 Joy-Con controllers, go to the Home screen, open the Controllers menu, and select Find Controllers . Now select the lost controller to start searching. If you don’t have the Nintendo Today app, check out this post by Bluesky to see the feature in action.

A similar feature was available on the original Nintendo Switch, where you could remotely activate the Joy-Con controllers to vibrate, which would hopefully help you find them. However, you can now go beyond just vibrating. With the Switch 2, missing Joy-Con will now vibrate and play a sound, which should make it easier for you to hear your poor controller screaming for help. The process is very similar to pinging your iPhone or Apple Watch .

Nintendo hasn’t revealed any speaker functionality for the Switch 2 Joy-Con yet, so it’s likely the beep is just a retuned hum. Still, it paints an impressive picture of what HD Rumble 2 is capable of.

What do you think at the moment?

That’s not the only quality-of-life improvement Nintendo has confirmed for the Switch 2. The company recently showed off a charging limiter and the ability to lock the Switch 2 with a PIN . There’s also support for third-party USB-C webcams .

However, not everyone will feel the need to spend more money on the Switch 2. If you’re still on the fence, click here to compare the specs of the Nintendo Switch 2 to the original Switch . And don’t forget to check out the list of games coming to Switch 2 , or the new mouse controls .
