This Tool Allows You to Quickly Edit Photos in the Browser Without Downloading Anything.

Need to quickly edit a photo? MiNi PhotoEditor is a free and open source web application that allows you to perform basic image editing tasks in your browser without having to upload your photos anywhere to a server. The app offers quick tools for cropping, lighting and other adjustments, as well as Instagram-style filters. This is ideal if you ever need to quickly edit an image on a computer that you can’t install photo editing software on, like a Chromebook or work computer.
To get started, simply open the MiNi PhotoEditor website and drag and drop an image onto it. In my tests, all images—even large ones—opened instantly, which makes sense considering all the editing happens locally on your computer. No need to wait for it to load.
The editing interface is simple: your image is on the left, and editing tools are located in the boxes on the right (or at the bottom if your window isn’t wide enough to display them on the side). The top window allows you to rotate the image, crop it (manually or at a specified ratio), and even perform basic perspective shifts. Below are fields for adjusting lighting levels and color balance, which can be useful if the lighting wasn’t quite right when you took the photo. There are also several Instagram-style filters that can be applied with one click.
Feel free to make as many changes as you like – the original file will not be affected. You can click the Split button in the top right corner to see the difference between the original image and the edited version. When you’re done, click the Download button to save the image as a JPEG or PNG.
Of course, MiNi PhotoEditor will never replace a full-fledged photo editor like Photoshop, but it is completely free, gives you a lot of basic functionality, and is available on any device with a web browser.
