Designed primarily for Android phones and new iPhones with USB-C , the Kishi Ultra attaches to your device with a spring bridge that can support any device between 4.7 and 8.3 inches in length. In the hand, it feels like a full-size Xbox controller split in half, with offset analog sticks, large tactile buttons, clicky bumpers, and analog triggers. However, its wide design makes it less travel-friendly than the Kishi V2 Pro , but the trade-off is comfort, especially for larger hands or long gaming sessions.

The physical controls of the Kishi Ultra are reported to be fast and responsive. You get the familiar Xbox-style setup with a large D-pad, customizable L4 and R4 triggers, and additional RGB lighting for a bit of flair. Plus, the addition of haptic feedback gives an extra boost to every hit or hit in games like Ultrakill. Additionally, the Kishi Ultra includes practical details such as a USB-C port that supports pass-through charging and a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired audio. On Android, you get bonus features like virtual controller support for games without built-in control mapping (think Genshin Impact). However, if you are an iPhone user, you will miss out on this feature. Additionally, cloud gaming on iOS via Xbox Game Pass isn’t as smooth, requiring a workaround over the internet instead of a pure app.

What are your thoughts so far?

However, the core experience remains the same across both platforms. Some quirks remain, such as a slight twitch in the analog triggers (especially when you’re trying to finely control acceleration in racing games—something to keep in mind if you’re picky about racing or high-fidelity games, as noted in PCMag’s review ) and an overall size that makes it difficult to fit into smaller bags. But if you can get past that, it’s about as close as mobile gaming gets to console level. Plus, with the ability to seamlessly connect it to a PC via USB-C and use it as a wired controller, it quietly doubles its value.
