Your Google Pixel Can Now Create New Emoji for You

For the past five years, Google’s Emoji Kitchen has offered users the ability to create unique emojis from existing icons. This feature allows you to take two emojis and combine them into one to make a familiar but new emoji. You can take a greeting emoji and combine it with a robot emoji to create a greeting robot, or an alien emoji and a “shh” emoji to create an alien telling you to be quiet.
However, you can’t necessarily mix every emoji you see on your emoji keyboard—Google has to make those combinations possible in the first place. From time to time, Google will include new combinations in software updates , even if they don’t advertise every one of them. The more you use emoji on Gboard, the more combinations you’ll discover.
But now you no longer need to experiment with Emoji Kitchen to discover new combinations. In fact, Google will do the aggregation for you: all you have to do is scroll.
Browse Kitchen emoji combinations on Pixel
As reported by 9to5Google , Google is rolling out an update to the emoji keyboard on Pixel devices. Once the update hits your Pixel, you’ll see a short row of emoji combinations at the top of the emoji keyboard with an arrow at the end of the row. Tap the arrow and a complete grid of emoji combinations will open in front of you, which you can scroll through for a long time . If you somehow get to the end and don’t find an emoji you like, you can go back to the beginning of the grid and pull down to refresh your browser.
When you find a combination you like, click on it. The emoji keyboard will display a pop-up window showing which two emoji were used to create the new one. If you want to use it, just click Submit .
While Emoji Kitchen is available on all devices that use Gboard, the new Emoji Kitchen browser is available exclusively for Pixel devices. On other devices, you will still need to create Emoji Kitchen icons manually. Alternatively, you can use the Randomize option in the Emoji Kitchen tool built into Google: simply search for Emoji Kitchen in your web browser, then click Cook .
