You Should Try Instagram’s New Blend Feature to Create a Custom Reel Feed.
Instagram has a new feature that creates personalized Reels for you and your friends. Blend, an invite-only option available in individual or group chats, is updated daily and offers content based on members’ tastes.
Spotify has a similar feature called Blend , which creates shared playlists (also updated daily) based on both listeners’ tastes. Please note that Instagram Blend, which is only available on mobile devices, is not yet available to all users, even if the icon appears in your chats.
How to use Instagram Blend
To launch the mix, you will need to invite users through individual or group chats. In the mobile app’s Messages, open the individual or group chat you want to mix with and tap the new Mix icon. Each chat participant will receive an invitation – if at least one person accepts it, a mix will be created, but the user’s suggested videos will only be added if they accept the invitation.
Once you’ve created a blend, you can preview it by tapping the Blend icon at the top of the chat, where you can then comment or react to it. You can remove a video that’s suggested to you by tapping the three horizontal dots and selecting Remove from Blends , but this will remove it from any Blends you’re a part of. If you want to leave a blend, open it and tap the Settings icon > Keep This Blend .
According to Instagram’s explainer page , you can also curate suggestions by indicating whether you’re interested or not (tap the three horizontal dots on the reel) to get more or less similar content. Sensitive content will be filtered by members with the strictest settings.
