This is an entry-level 25-inch 1080p panel built for speed, not flash. There is no RGB lighting or any unusual additions. The stand is simple and a bit wobbly, and the design is geared more toward the “budget gamer” than a premium setup. However, if smooth gameplay tops your list, the G4 stands out with fast response times, low input lag, and FreeSync and G-SYNC compatibility. Whether you’re using AMD or NVIDIA, you’ll get flawless performance as long as you use DisplayPort.

This monitor is clearly made for computer games. At 240Hz and consistent response times across all refresh rates – 60Hz, 120Hz or 240Hz – you get smooth motion with virtually no ghosting or blurring. It also includes some additional gaming features such as a virtual aiming point overlay (always-on crosshair) and an ultra-wide simulation mode that increases the aspect ratio to 21:9 for a wider field of view. However, console gamers may want to skip this one. It doesn’t scale well to 4K or 1440p and has poor VRR support on PS5. The Xbox Series X performs slightly better, but you still won’t be able to take full advantage of the HDR or High Definition modes. So if you play primarily on console, it might not be worth the hassle.

What are your thoughts so far?

The image quality is decent for the price, but far from ideal. It handles glare well and gets bright enough for daytime use, but don’t expect deep blacks or blinding HDR—this monitor has no local dimming and the contrast ratio is quite weak. Black often looks gray in a dark room. However, for most gamers who play in well-lit rooms, it works fine. Viewing angles are wide enough for cooperative gaming without significant color washout. Dual HDMI 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort, and a 3.5mm audio jack provide the basics, and you also get other features like automatic source switching, blue light filtering, and power-saving modes.
