My Favorite Amazon Deal of the Day: Kindle Paperwhite Kids
If you’ve never considered a Kindle Kids e-reader for its label, you’re missing out on some nice benefits. The 16GB Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Kids costs $139.99 (originally $179.99), its lowest price ever, according to price trackers . This is why it is very important for everyone, not just children.
The children’s edition of the Kindle includes a free case (worth about $30), an ad-free experience (worth $20), six months of Amazon Kindle Kids+ (worth $36), and a two-year warranty (as opposed to the one-year warranty for the standard version). All this cost is 20 dollars less than the “adult” version, it’s a no-brainer.
The cases on these models are clearly designed for children, but it’s hard to argue with the price. An Amazon Kindle Kids+ subscription will automatically charge you after the first six months, but you can cancel in advance. On these Kindle models, Kids Mode is turned on by default. You can easily turn it off in Settings, but doing so will return the ads to the lock screen—Kindle Kids also has some cool features that even adults will appreciate, like the rewards feature, as explained in this video .
With a six-month Amazon Kindle Kids+ subscription, you can get unlimited access to thousands of children’s books, including the entire Harry Potter series. The Paperwhite Kindle has the same hardware as adults, including water resistance, adjustable warm light, a 12-week battery, and access to Audible via Bluetooth.
