The Best Deals on Tech That Are Still Valid During the Spring Shopping Season

Amazon’s big spring sale may be almost over (it ends tonight), but there are still plenty of good tech deals to be found at low prices.

Amazon, as well as Best Buy, Walmart, Target and other retailers, continue to sell gadgets from laptops to TVs at deep discounts. Shopping these sales can be a little daunting if you don’t know how to track an item’s price history , but luckily I’ve already done all the work for you. Prices are correct at the time of writing, but you can expect them to fluctuate and stock to sell out, so don’t hesitate if you see a sale that interests you.

Best deals on laptops

Sales are a great time to buy laptops as they are one of the most common items to go on sale during these periods. Here are some of my favorite picks for the best laptop deals available right now.

• Apple MacBook Air 13-inch with M4 chip: $949 at Amazon (was $999) . Launched earlier this month, Apple’s MacBook Air M4 is now on sale. At the time of writing, the discount only applies to the 13-inch model with 16GB of RAM, but for many users this is enough.

• Apple MacBook Pro with M4 chip: $1,399 at Amazon (was $1,599) . For a more powerful computer, Apple’s MacBook Pro is the obvious choice. At the time of writing, sales have been seen across all chip variants (the M4 has a few upgrades available), as well as several RAM and storage options, but you’ll have to stick with the 14-inch screen.

• Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro 360: $1,475 at Amazon (was $1,699) . An alternative to the Windows-based MacBook Air, although the power can potentially rival the Pro in some areas, this lightweight laptop is slightly more expensive but features a higher-resolution OLED screen with a higher refresh rate, and the ability to convert into a tablet.

• Microsoft Surface Laptop: $921 at Amazon (was $1,400) . A cheaper alternative to the MacBook Air, the Microsoft Surface Laptop offers a familiar form factor and, thanks to a Qualcomm chip, longer battery life and greater AI compatibility, albeit at the expense of some performance.

• Lenovo IdeaPad 1i: $420 at Best Buy (was $600) . It’s a more basic laptop designed to get work done, but with a respectable mid-range processor, surprisingly plenty of memory for the price, and a touchscreen, there’s quite a bit going for it.

• HP Victus 16 Gaming Laptop: Best Price $900 (Was $1,500) . The HP Victus 16 is a great deal at under $1,000, giving you a decent chip, 16GB of RAM and plenty of storage, plus an RTX 4070 GPU, which is usually reserved for much more expensive machines.

Best deals on tablets

Good tablets are rarer during sales since iPads overwhelmingly dominate the market and Apple can be a little stricter with supplies. However, if you are willing to look, good opportunities can be found.

• Apple 11-inch iPad Pro with M4 chip: $919 at Amazon (was $999) . Apple’s first iPad with an OLED screen, the M4 Pro, is now available for under four figures, with offers available on all storage configurations.

• Microsoft Surface Pro 13-inch: $1,000 at Best Buy (was $1,200) . This choice blurs the line between a tablet and a Windows 11-equipped laptop, giving it a full ecosystem of desktop apps to explore. Plus, this particular model also adds a few Copilot+ goodies. The internal memory is 512 GB and the RAM is 16 GB.

• Google Pixel tablet: $279 at Amazon (was $399) . A more affordable tablet, this device uses the same Tensor G2 chipset as the Pixel 7 line, has 8GB of RAM and a 2560 x 1600 display. This means it’s more modest, but on the plus side it can also act as a smart display.

Best deals on phones

As with tablets, current phone offerings are held back a bit by Apple, as iPhone sales tend to be hit-or-miss, often relying on third-party sellers with refurbished devices. However, if you are using Android, you have many options.

• Google Pixel 9 (unlocked): $629 at Amazon (was $799) . Google’s latest non-pro phone features a Tensor G4 chip, a host of Gemini-exclusive features, and a 6.3-inch Actua OLED display.

• Samsung Galaxy S25 (unlocked): $700 at Amazon (was $800) . Samsung Galaxy phones are a favorite alternative to Google Pixels, with a more traditional camera and more powerful chips. You lose out on the exclusive features of the Google Pixel software, but if you can get used to Samsung’s own ecosystem, you can also gain some convenience using it on Android.

• Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 (unlocked): $1,067 at Amazon (was $1,220) . Flip phones are still a pricey proposition, but the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 on sale is becoming a little more affordable. This phone has many of the same specs as the S25, although the camera performance is slightly compromised by the foldable screen.

• Motorola Razr+ (unlocked): $749 at Amazon (was $1,000) . This nostalgic flip phone is a slightly cheaper alternative to the Z Flip series, with a slightly weaker chipset but also a slightly larger size.

Best deals on TVs

Like laptops, TVs almost always go on sale at every opportunity, and waiting for those discounts to drop is a great way to get a display that punches above its weight class.

• LG B3 77-inch OLED TV: $1,487 at Amazon (was $2,297) . OLED is still my favorite display technology, and if I can use my point-and-shoot for a moment, it is the only technology that can truly compare to CRT. LG makes some of the best OLED TVs, and this large-screen model has 4K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. There are four HDMI 2.1 inputs.

• Samsung QN90D 50-inch QLED TV: $998 at Amazon (was $1,398) . QLED takes a different approach than OLED, sacrificing perfectly pure blacks in favor of higher brightness and greater availability. Samsung’s Neo QLED technology combines this with mini-LEDs to help restore some of the contrast, and is an excellent choice at this price point, especially with built-in 4K upscaling and Dolby Atmos support.

• TCL 55-inch Q6 Series 4K Smart Google TV: $300 at Best Buy (was $320) . If you’re not comfortable with Amazon or Roku operating systems, a TCL TV is a good choice. This model has a diagonal of up to 98 inches, a QLED 4K panel, supports Dolby Vision and has a native refresh rate of 60 Hz.

Best deals on headphones and earbuds

Headphones and earbuds are one of those things that are easy to forget about when upgrading. If you hear your content, that’s good enough for most people, right? But discounts are an easy reason to upgrade your hardware and gain access to features you never knew you needed.

• Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones: $318 on Amazon (was $400) . These are Sony’s flagship noise-cancelling in-ear headphones, promising 30-hour battery life and Alexa voice control along with capacitive touch controls.

• Apple AirPods Max headphones: $513 at Amazon (up from $549) . Apple’s AirPods Max are a great choice for anyone in the Apple ecosystem, especially with the USB-C version’s recent introduction of lossless audio .

• Bose QuietComfort Headphones: $249 at Amazon (was $349) . The Bose QuietComfort headphones are slightly cheaper than the latest flagships from Sony and Apple, but still promise strong noise-canceling performance and battery life that lasts a day.

• Apple AirPods Pro 2nd generation headphones: $199 at Amazon (was $250) . Apple’s 2nd generation AirPods Pro add several new software features that make them a great upgrade, including conversation recognition and even the ability to use them as hearing aids.

• Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones: $219 at Amazon (was $299) . Conversely, if you don’t need to be part of the Apple ecosystem, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra offers superior noise cancellation for in-ear headphones, as well as an updated Bluetooth codec.

Best deals on smartwatches

Smartwatches are one of those extra benefits of a smartphone that are easy to ignore until you have one. Then it’s hard to come back. If you’re a fitness enthusiast or just want to make it easier to manage your music and tap-to-pay, here are some good ways to get started.

• Apple Watch Series 10: $329 at Amazon (was $399) . The current standard Apple Series 10 smartwatch is sold in 42mm and 46mm sizes. It features a sporty hinge, a thinner design and a larger display than the previous model.

• Apple Watch SE Gen 2: $199 at Amazon (was $249) . If all you want from a smartwatch are the absolute basics, the Apple Watch SE is a budget option that can still make one-tap payments and track your fitness. It is currently sold in 40mm and 44mm sizes and comes with a sport strap.

• Pixel Watch 3: $290 at Amazon (was $350) . Google’s own Pixel Watch 3 has a more rounded design than the Apple Watch and includes some extra features straight from Fitbit. It is sold in 41mm and 45mm sizes and comes with an elastic band.

• Samsung Galaxy Watch 7: $240 at Best Buy (was $300) . The Galaxy Watch 7, a slightly cheaper Android option, is still fully compatible with WearOS and measures more than a dozen different fitness statistics. It is sold in 40mm and 44mm sizes and comes with an elastic band.

• Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra: $420 at Best Buy (was $650) . This update to the Galaxy Watch, one of the few premium smartwatches currently on sale, features a titanium design, an additional button and improved water resistance. It is only 47mm long and includes an elastic band.

Not everyone needs a computer with a screen and keyboard. If you do all your computing at your desk, here are some great desktop computers that will give you all the power you need.

• M4 Mac Mini: $549 at Amazon (was $599) . In 2024, the Apple Mac Mini received a much-needed update with a new design and Apple’s latest chip. This model is equipped with an M4 chip, 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory.

• M4 iMac: $1,204 at Amazon (was $1,299) . If you need desktop computers with a built-in screen, the iMac is always a good choice. This model, also updated for 2024, features an M4 processor, 16GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 24-inch display.

• Minisforum DeskMini UM870 Slim: $480 at Amazon (was $580) . Apple isn’t the only company making mini PC games. In the Windows world, Minisforum has made a name for itself in small computers, and this one has a powerful Ryzen 7 8745H chip, 32GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage.

• Dell Inspiron 3030: $650 at Dell (was $900) . When it comes to office computers in more traditional form factors, Dell is the classic standby. This Inspiron deal gets you a respectable Intel Core i7-14700 processor, 16GB of memory, and 512GB of storage.

• MSI Codex R2 Gaming Desktop: $829 at Newegg (was $899) . As for gaming, this deal is a good starting point, with an Intel Core i5-13400F processor, RTX 4060 graphics card, 16GB of memory, 1TB of storage, and a pair of RGB fans thrown in for good measure.

• Alienware Area-51 gaming desktop: $4,650 at Dell (was $5,050) . At the ultra-premium end of the spectrum, you can save some money on one of the most powerful desktops right now, even if you still have to pay a pretty penny in the long run. This Alienware Area-51 gaming desktop features an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, the latest Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card, 64GB of memory, and 4TB of internal storage. Wow.

Best Selling Video Game Technology

The best sales for video games tend to happen most often in the summer and fall, but you can still find a few sales right now, especially on hardware and accessories.

• Xbox Series X 1TB Digital Edition: $435 at Amazon (was $450) . It’s a small discount, but if you’re willing to live without a disc drive, you can save some money on Microsoft’s most powerful Xbox.
