It’s Not Just You, Apple Music Isn’t Working

If you wanted to play a few tunes on your iPhone this afternoon but found nothing was playing, you’re not the only one: Apple Music is down as of Tuesday afternoon ET.

The Apple System Status website currently confirms Apple Music downtime . Currently the website displays the following Apple Music status:

Apple Music – crash

Today, 14:26 – ongoing

Some users are affected

Users may experience intermittent problems with this service.

All other Apple services, including the App Store, FaceTime, iMessage and all iCloud services, are currently available online.

I first saw this news thanks to Chance Miller of 9to5Mac . Personally, Miller and I don’t have any problems with Apple Music. In fact, as I write this article, I’m listening to the same Lo-Fi Breeze playlist I’ve been playing all day. I tested it on both my iPhone and my Mac, making sure it was streaming music rather than playing downloaded tracks, and I didn’t have any problems.

The service has definitely been working for me since 2:26 p.m., so it’s unclear how widespread this glitch is in Apple Music. But if you’re having trouble launching Apple Music this afternoon, know that you’re not alone and it’s most likely not on your end. Apple will likely fix the cause of the crash as soon as possible; in the meantime, sit quietly and turn on music on YouTube .
