My Favorite Amazon Buy of the Day: Ikarao Shell S1 Portable Karaoke Speaker

Testing the Ikarao Shell S1 karaoke speaker during my review was one of the highlights of my time as a tech reviewer. Now that it’s $100 off, the price after the on-page coupon is now $249.99 (originally $349.99), its lowest price ever, according to price trackers . While you may have never heard of this brand before, I can confirm that this speaker is quality and is now a bargain for the price.

I’m surprised that no company has thought of doing what Icarao did with the Shell S1 before: combining a touchscreen tablet, two Bluetooth microphones, and powerful audio into a small, portable speaker. None of these things are new technology, but Ikarao just thought of it to make it happen.

The Shell S1 is the latest and most affordable karaoke speaker. And it’s loud enough to throw a house party thanks to the 104dB stereo speaker (it fills my entire 1,300 square foot house with sound loud enough to throw a party). The two wireless microphones last for 20 hours on a rechargeable battery, and the speaker itself lasts about nine hours if you’re using the screen. The screen is a 10.1-inch touch tablet that allows you to control your music. It comes with a built-in Spotify app, but unfortunately does not have a YouTube app (there is a direct link to it using your web browser).

You can connect a speaker to your TV to get more people to sing along with you, but you’ll need to connect an HDMI cable. There is a casting option, but it is done through a third-party app that you need to download. It’s not as simple as AirPlay or connecting an HDMI cable.

If you’re looking for a reliable, compact karaoke machine that you can plug into your TV and play for hours, the $250 Shell S1 is the best you can get right now.
