Everything We Know About IOS 19

With iOS 19 expected to be unveiled in June 2025 at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), rumors about its features are spreading fast. While none of these rumors can be confirmed at this time, they do give us a good idea of what Apple may be considering behind the scenes. With artificial intelligence being the trend of the month, improvements to Apple Intelligence are expected in iOS 19, but the camera app may also get some attention. Here’s everything that’s been revealed so far.

Merging Siri and Apple Intelligence

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman , Apple plans to merge Siri with Apple Intelligence sometime during the iOS 19 update cycle. Yes, the assistant is currently listed as part of Apple Intelligence, but behind the scenes it supposedly has a new LLM that will unify its currently separate architecture and allow it to handle complex queries more often. At the moment, AI capabilities are much more limited , and most Siri doesn’t use AI at all.

Gurman says he expects the merger to be completed by spring 2026 with the release of iOS 19.4. His report states that Apple’s original plan was to launch a more interactive Siri in the same update, but that was delayed and is not expected to be unveiled at WWDC 2025.

Gurman also points out that since Apple hasn’t yet finished rolling out last year’s Apple Intelligence feature , don’t expect any more unannounced features anytime soon.

Redesign of the Camera application

About a month ago, YouTuber FrontPageTech announced a redesign of the Camera app for iPhone. He claimed to have seen a video of the supposed redesign and recreated it for the video. The render primarily focuses on the control system. Instead of swiping left or right to switch between camera modes, this leak indicates that when opening the app, we can only see two options – photos and videos. Swiping switches between them, and tapping opens additional options such as panorama or spatial video. You can also see a slightly larger viewfinder in the render, but all of this should be taken with a grain of salt. Even if the sources are trustworthy and the information is accurate (other sources of information have previously doubted FrontPageTech ), a lot can change between now and release. Features are constantly changing during development, and this is something you can expect in iOS 19 as well.

No major UI changes.

The FrontPageTech leak also suggests that Apple won’t be making any other major UI changes in iOS 19. Since development on iOS 18 is not yet complete, even though WWDC 2025 is just around the corner, I have to agree that it’s unlikely that big UI changes will follow so soon.

Your iPhone will (probably) be running iOS 19.

Since there’s no major UI design change expected, there’s no reason for Apple to exclude more phones from the iOS 19 update lineup. Citing an Apple source, French site iPhoneSoft.fr reports that any phone running iOS 18 should also be compatible with iOS 19. However, the iPad 7 presumably won’t be so lucky, as the site says it won’t be included in the iPadOS 19 update.
