My Favorite Amazon Deal of the Day: Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra
Last summer, Samsung announced the Galaxy Watch Ultra , which was positioned as a competitor to the Apple Watch Ultra with a focus on outdoor and workout features. Fast forward six months after its release, and you can now purchase the Galaxy Watch Ultra starting at $409.06 (originally $649.99), its lowest price ever, according to price check tools .
The Galaxy Watch Ultra excels in one area: its outdoor features. If you’re an avid hiker or athlete who spends long hours outdoors, this smartwatch is a great choice. The biggest downside is that it’s only available in one size, 47mm, and the screen is a 1.47-inch Super AMOLED display (it’s brighter than previous Samsung AMOLED smartwatches).
Like a good rugged watch, this one is rugged, made from Grade 4 titanium and rated IP68 for water and dust resistance. You can also take it to high altitudes (up to 9,000 meters) and it can withstand pressures of up to 10 atm (about 330 feet underwater). You also get a built-in siren in case of emergency. Because it’s the LTE version, you don’t rely on Wi-Fi or Bluetooth for satellite signal (and yes, you can receive calls on it).
The watch uses Samsung’s Wear OS and has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The 590mAh battery is one of the best in its price range, making it very competitive and ideal for outdoor use. If you don’t use any power-saving modes, it will last 60 hours, but if you’re conservative, it can go up to 100 hours.
One of the new features on this watch is AI-powered health metrics and advanced sleep tracking, which you can read more about in PCMag’s “excellent” review . If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly, smaller option for more general use, the $239 (originally $299.99) Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 is a great option.
