The latest iMac is equipped with the M4 chip, which is about 1.5 times faster than the M2, and of course better prepared for artificial intelligence than previous models . You will get 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD storage, 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU. If you want to double the Thunderbolt 4 ports to four and get a 10-core CPU and GPU, you can upgrade to the even more powerful M4 iMac , which also has the lowest price at $1,374 (originally $1,499).

Some other improvements include a 12MP Center Stage webcam and USB-C ports for charging the Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Trackpad. The “nano-texture display” option makes the Retina 4.5K display slightly less prone to glare and reflections.

According to PCMag’s “excellent” review , the design is essentially unchanged from 2021. One cool new feature you might find useful is the ability to mirror the display of your iPhone and MacBook on your monitor. While it’s not a true external monitor, it’s definitely better than spending more money on the 2022 Studio Display .

The M4 iMac can handle heavy workloads, making it a great work computer for those who want to work on demanding media editing software or similar work. Like older iMacs, you can expect the M4 to last for many years and receive Apple support in the future (the M1 is still receiving major updates).
