My Favorite Amazon Deal of the Day: the Ultimate Ears Megaboom 4
I’ve been a fan of Ultimate Ears (UE) outdoor speakers since I first purchased the Megaboom 3 in 2018 and still use it as my personal portable speaker. Megaboom 4 is a new version of it that came out last year, but it’s already 32% off, bringing its price down to $135.44 (originally $199.99). This is the lowest price it has reached according to price tracking tools , and is cheaper than the Megaboom 3.
UE is well known in the portable speaker market for producing some of the best outdoor speaker systems. The Megaboom series is the flagship speaker of the brand and the fourth version of this speaker is long overdue. The update brings fast USB-C charging, increased battery life of up to 20 hours, control of media playback with physical buttons, greater bass range, and better sound with more balance.
Thanks to the design of its UE speakers, you get 360-degree sound that’s perfect for outdoor use (but it sounds great indoors, too). This speaker, like many others in its lineup, floats on water and is rated IP67 for water and dust resistance. The companion app allows you to fully customize the equalizer and connect the speaker to other UE speakers to create stereo sound. The speaker itself already produces stereo, but since it is a single speaker, it will be difficult to notice.
Despite the updates, the Megaboom 4 isn’t as loud as its predecessor, peaking at around 83dB, and the audio quality at these levels will sound a little compressed, but if you don’t like listening to music, this won’t be a big problem.
