You Can Now Customize Chat and Background Colors in WhatsApp
WhatsApp is adding new options to customize your chats, including preset themes, color combinations for backgrounds and chat bubbles, and a choice of 30 new wallpapers.
WhatsApp users have been able to change their chat backgrounds for a while now, from plain colors to patterned wallpapers and images downloaded from their camera roll. The customizations have now expanded to include chat pop-ups with default themes that coordinate background and chat colors, as well as the ability to customize one or both for individual chats or all of your WhatsApp threads.
According to WhatsApp’s blog post announcing the update, chat themes are currently being rolled out and will be available to all users “in the coming weeks.”
How to change chat themes in WhatsApp
To apply a WhatsApp theme to all your chats, go to Settings > Chats > Default Chat Theme . If you want to choose a topic for a specific chat, open this thread, tap the chat name (on iOS) or the triple dot (on Android) at the top of the screen, and select Chat Topic . From this menu you can also change your chat wallpaper.
If you don’t see these settings, this feature may not be available to you yet. Be sure to update the application to the latest version.
WhatsApp recently added the ability to select specific chat participants to include in video calls, as well as add new video effects.
