My Favorite Amazon Deal of the Day: Sonos Ace
You’ve probably heard of Sonos smart speakers and soundbars . They are among the best on the market in terms of sound quality and ease of user interface. But if you’re not into tech audio, you probably missed their headphone debut with the Sonos Ace, released last summer. You can get the Sonos Ace for $349 (originally $449), which is the lowest price they’ve offered according to price trackers .
The Sonos Ace is soft, comfortable and, thanks to its plastic design, adapts to different head sizes. You do get buttons to control the headphones, which I personally think is a huge plus. Battery life is impressive: about 30 hours with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) or Aware mode settings active, or about 40 hours with both settings turned off. Bluetooth multipoint connection means you can connect up to two devices at the same time and easily switch between them.
According to PCMag’s “excellent” review , the headphones perform well. The sound is balanced using the in-app EQ control, and the ANC and Aware Mode features are top notch and rival the best headphones on the market. Unfortunately, the Sonos Ace doesn’t support Wi-Fi, which means you can’t stream media to them like you can to Sonos speakers. However, you can connect to Sonos speakers via Bluetooth and listen to media that way (if you have Sonos speakers).
At its current price, the Sonos Ace competes with the best headphones for Apple users, the AirPods Max , and the best headphones for Android users, the Sony WH-1000XM5 . If transparency mode is important to you or you have Sonos speakers in your home, the Sonos Ace is your best choice. Otherwise, consider the AirPods Max or WH-1000XM5.
