Warner Bros. Uploads Classic Movies to YouTube for Free
You can watch almost anything on YouTube, but if you want to watch a full-length Hollywood movie, you’ll either have to endure a lot of commercial breaks or pay a digital video rental fee. But not all movies on YouTube have such restrictions.
Sometimes you come across feature films that you can watch in their entirety, without any restrictions or obstacles that would prevent you from enjoying them. While not all of them should , um, be available on YouTube, let me point you to an interesting playlist of movies uploaded by none other than Warner Bros. themselves. Discovery via Warner Bros. Entertainment. As Gizmodo notes , this playlist of 31 movies is 100% legal, ad-free, and free to watch.
It appears that over the past month or so, Warner Bros. uploaded movies to this YouTube playlist, seemingly at random. Of course, the list of titles runs the gamut. Upstairs is The Wind and the Lion , a 1975 historical drama starring Sean Connery about Theodore Roosevelt about the kidnapping of an American citizen (to clarify: Connery is not playing FDR). Below is Michael Collins , a 1996 thriller about a real-life Irish revolutionary starring Liam Neeson, Alan Rickman and Julia Roberts.
Also available: The 1997 martial arts film Mister Nice Guy , in which Jackie Chan plays a chef caught in the middle of a dispute between a journalist and a gang of drug dealers. At the other end of the spectrum is The 11th Hour , Leonardo DiCaprio’s 2007 climate change documentary that brings together ideas from scientists, politicians and environmental activists. It’s inspiring to see the climate progress we’ve made in the 18 years since the movie came out (I’ll pause while you laugh mirthlessly).
If The 11th Hour isn’t your thing, there are dozens of other films you might be interested in watching. Here’s the full list:
You can find them all by browsing the various Warner Bros. channels, but the easiest way is to check out this playlist .
