Apple Watch Series 8 Is Over $400 Off
The Apple Watch Series 8 (GPS + Cellular, 45mm) is now $329.99 on Woot, down from its original price of $749—the $419 discount is available for four days or until they sell out. This model comes in a silver stainless steel case with a white stripe for a premium look, and includes a one-year Apple limited warranty. Plus, Prime members get free standard shipping (and non-Prime users pay $6); Please note that shipping is not available to Alaska, Hawaii, PO Boxes or APO addresses.
This PCMag Editors’ Choice and Best of 2022 winner is a smartwatch built for real life, with an IP6X certification that makes it dust-resistant and a WR50 water resistance rating that lets you swim with it or wear it in the shower. Plus, its always-on OLED Retina display is said to have 1,000 nits of brightness, so it’s easy to read in any light. Swiping and tapping on the watch is also smooth and fast (without any noticeable lag), even if you’re running multiple apps at the same time. However, the battery life is where you might want to pause – 18 hours on a full charge is standard (you can bump that up to 36 hours on Low Power mode), making it good enough for most people, but if you need a battery for several days life, this will not help. Additionally, Apple doesn’t include a power adapter in the box, so if you don’t have a spare plug, you’ll have to get one, which can add to the overall cost.
The model is not just for telling time. It has cellular connectivity, which means you can text, make calls, and stream music without having to carry your iPhone. It also supports family setup, so you can control the Apple Watch for those who don’t have an iPhone. Now about the health benefits. Series 8 monitors heart rate, ECG readings and blood oxygen levels. Additionally, dual sensor temperature tracking helps you monitor your body temperature at night and improves the accuracy of your cycle tracking. Safety is another big plus. Crash Detection can alert emergency services if you’re in a serious car accident, while Fall Detection will do the same if you take a hard fall. It’s one of those features you hope you never need, but it’s still nice to have, notes PCMag’s review .
