My Favorite Amazon Deal of the Day: Google Pixel 8 Pro

Since the release of Google’s Pixel 9 last fall, the Pixel 8 lineup has predictably dropped in price. While the Pixel 8 Pro isn’t the newest Pixel, it’s still considered one of the best Android phones for 2025 , according to CNET. The unlocked Pixel 8 Pro with 128GB storage is currently $599 (originally $999), with a 40% discount. According to price tracking tools , this corresponds to the lowest price the device has reached.
You’ll get around nine hours of battery life from the Pixel 8 Pro; rear camera 50, 48 and 48 MP; and a 10.5 MP front camera. The OLED screen has a size of 6.7 inches, a resolution of 2992 by 1344 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Peak brightness reaches 2,400 nits, which is a big jump from the previous version. You can read more about this in PCMag’s “excellent” review .
The Pixel 8 Pro is still a great phone in 2025, with support for plenty of AI features that keep the phone looking fresh even a year after its release. Google has also been working hard to patch vulnerabilities in its Pixel phones back to the Pixel 6, meaning the Pixel 8 Pro will be supported by software updates for some time (up to seven years ). Google also continues to release new Pixel features every few months, including ” Audio Magic Eraser ,” which eliminates distracting sounds in videos, and a “Best Take” feature that lets you select the best frame from a series of photos.
While the new Pixel 9 lineup may be tempting—the most basic 128GB Pixel 9 model starts at $719 (originally $799), which is also a great price for a great phone —if you value performance and camera over design and features, you’re better off saving money with the Pixel 8 Pro.
