Where to Watch Every 2025 Oscar-Nominated Film?
Look, there’s a lot going on right now, and it can be nice to enjoy something frivolous like the Academy Awards. But watching movies is all about self-care, and trying to catch up with the nominees before the ceremony on Sunday, March 2 will definitely be good fun. (The show, hosted by Conan O’Brien, will air on ABC as well as Oscars.com and its associated digital platforms – depending on which ones still exist by March).
To help you get ready, I’ve rounded up all the nominees and done the work to figure out where you can watch them streaming – although as of this writing some are still only in theaters, I’ll update as new things drop on digital platforms. Some of the big names you can’t watch at home yet include The Brutalist , Total Unknown , I’m Still Here , Sing Sing , Nickel Boys , September 5th . There’s also the documentary No Other Land , which doesn’t even have an official distribution deal in the US yet. However, you already have a lot to catch up on (even before you get to potential contenders like The Contenders, Queer and The Last Dancer ). Happy disconnecting!
Emilia Perez
Despite not being, shall we say, universally loved by queer audiences, Spanish-language musical crime drama Emilia Perez managed to rack up a whopping 13 nominations, the most for a non-English language film. Among them is Carla Sofia Gasko for best actress, the first Oscar nod for an openly trans actress. You can stream Emilia Perez onNetflix .

Wicked
Next on the list of nominations is Wicked , a film that dominated the zeitgeist and the year-end box office—it shares nominations with The Brutalist , which has yet to air. And this is another musical! No directing nomination for Jon M. Chu, which is always interesting for a film with so many nominations. As the first of a planned two contestants, Academy voters might want to wait until next year to send Chu some witchy love. You can rent Wicked from Prime Video .

Conclave
The racy political thriller Conclave , filmed in the Vatican, received eight nominations – not bad for a middle-class adult film that is rarely made these days. Rossellini’s nomination marked the actress’s first-ever Oscar nomination, a surprise given her impressive career. You can stream Conclave on Peacock or rent it from Prime Video .

Anora
Director Sean Baker created a number of critically acclaimed films ( Tangerine , The Florida Project , Red Rocket ) that never won Oscar recognition. His latest comedy-drama about the troubled marriage of sex worker Anya and the son of a Russian oligarch received six nominations this year, including four Barker Award nominations (best film, direction, screenplay and editing). I haven’t seen it myself yet, but I’m a big fan of his other films. You can rent Anora from Prime Video .

Dune: Part Two
Five nominations is certainly not bad, but it feels like Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic got lost in the shuffle this year. Still, a Best Picture nomination and huge box office receipts are no small consolation prizes. You can stream Dune: Part Two on Max and Netflix, or rent it on Prime Video .

Substance
I can’t think of many (any?) body horror films that have reached the top of the Oscar hierarchy (Best Picture and Best Director nominations!), but Demi Moore gets the lion’s share of the spotlight in this one. Nosferatu
Robert Eggers’ lush, chilly remake of the vampire received mixed reactions from audiences (I loved it), but it did well at the box office and did even better with critics. All four of the film’s nominations are due to its striking visual effects. You can rent Nosferatu from Prime Video .

Wild robot
A service robot (voiced by Lupita Nyong’o) is shipwrecked on an island, where she learns to form new relationships and adopts an orphaned goose. The poignant animated film received three nominations. You can rent Robot Wild from Prime Video .

real pain
Jesse Eisenberg writes, directs and co-stars (along with Kieran Culkin) in this sweet and sad road trip film about a pair of mismatched American Jewish cousins who travel to Poland to honor their late grandmother. . Each of the main characters received nominations: Culkin for acting and Eisenberg for screenplay. You can stream A Real Pain on Hulu or rent it on Prime Video .

Flow
A magnificent animated saga about a cat displaced by a flood. This Latvian film is racking up awards left and right, even though it has no dialogue and is animated using open source software. You can rent Flow from Prime Video .

Student
Discussion surrounding the Donald Trump biopic focused more on the Trump campaign’s various lawsuits, and the film bombed at the box office due to mixed reviews. Nevertheless: two acting nominations are not bad. You can rent The Apprentice from Prime Video .

Inside Out 2
The rather delightful sequel , Inside Out, has earned over $1.5 billion at the box office and may also win an Oscar for it. You can stream Inside Out 2 on Disney+ or rent it on Prime Video .
